New Song Released on iTunes

Hey friends!

My new song, “Remedy” has finally been released on iTunes (*cheering*) and I want to give you some background on it:

I was sitting in my apartment in Atlanta a couple of years ago playing my guitar and a tune started spilling out. I thought it was ironic/appropriate that emergency vehicles were racing down the street outside as the lyrics came.

Hear the sound of desperation
Hear the sound of the voices crying for peace
Shine your light on the hopeless masses
Be the answer to their need

The remedy for injustice
Healer of all brokenness
Oh life, oh love
Breakthrough

As the melody and lyrics began to flow, so many images began running through my mind. This world is an unjust place and we so desperately need a Remedy. Horrible things happen every day, even here in America. Abuse of every kind, hunger, etc. It upsets me to my very core. I can’t imagine how God must feel… oh how he loves the men and women he created.

I am thankful God gave me this song because he uses it to remind me that there IS a Remedy to the injustice. Someday, people will be treated humanely and nobody will ever experience terror or hunger or thirst, darkness or despair again. The cruelty of those who have rejected their purpose of living the way humanity was intended to live (in love and light) WILL be stopped. In the meantime, while we cannot possibly fix every problem in the world, we do have a responsibility to be God’s ambassadors of peace. We have been commissioned by God to be gracious to the helpless in whatever way we can (Isaiah 58:6-12, Deut 15:7-10, Luke 10:25-37).

It’s been over a year since the song was written and I am even more passionate about raising awareness/doing something about injustice around the world.

Here is a link where you can download the song on iTunes. Please, as you listen, remember that there is a Remedy for the injustice in the world. I can’t wait until he comes and fixes the mess… but until he does, let’s do our part!

Shine your light on the hopeless masses
Be the answer to their need

The remedy for injustice
Healer of all brokenness
Oh life, oh love

Hear the sound of my desperation
Hear the sound of my voice, crying for peace
Shine your light on my hopeless condition
Be the answer, you’re my need

The remedy for injustice
Healer of my brokenness
Oh life, oh love

And set the captives free
Begin with me
Open up our eyes
Help us see who we need

Hear the sound of the angels pleading
“Sons and daughters of heaven, he is peace”
Remedy for the hopeless masses
The only answer to our need

Oh remedy for injustice
Healer of my brokenness
Oh life, oh love

Oh remedy for injustice
Healer of our brokenness
Oh life, oh love
Breakthrough
