How Lovely Lyrics & Rough

Of all the tunes I have written, this will always have a special place in my heart. Written January or February of 2008 and played on my wedding day, August 30, 2009. A classical guitar, cello, and harp trio did an instrumental version.

Hope you enjoy.

How Lovely
Words and Music: Stephanie Staples

My eyes are dry, the tears are gone
The pain of night is fading
But every tear from every heartache
Has taught me more than any rose could

So I’ll remember you, my Lord
Here in the quiet place
And I will trust you even more now that I know my heart is safe

How blessed am I to be held here
How fortunate that I can dine with you
How lovely is your will, how lovely is your will

I must confess, I’m a little nervous
Afraid more pain may lay ahead of me
But I’m convinced you are my keeper
So I will rest, enjoy the sweetness

And I’ll remember you, my Lord for in the wilderness
I learned to trust you even more and learned to lean upon your grace

How blessed am I to be held here
How fortunate that I can dine with you
How lovely is your will, how lovely is your will

The dreaming is done, this is reality
The storm has passed, I see the rainbow
