Face to Face

Album: Interlude
Length:4:05

Tiffany April Jonker stepped into eternity at the age of thirteen after a battle with cancer. A couple of years later, I was sitting at dinner with Matthew (Tiffany’s older brother) and his family when he shared some words that had been ringing in his head: “Now that you’re in heaven, tell me what you see. I see Jesus, I see Jesus, I see Jesus, everywhere.” These words inspired me to write “Face to Face.”

Lyrics

Now that you’re in heaven
Tell me what you see
Is He as beautiful
As I picture Him to be
Running through the streets of gold
Dancing with the King
I guess it’s selfish
To want you back with me

But I can’t help but shed some tears
Wishing I could have you here with me
But I know

You see Jesus
You see Jesus
You see Jesus everywhere
You can touch Him
You can know Him
You can speak with Him face to face

Now that you’re heaven
Tell me what you see
Are you and Jesus watching over me
Do you see me struggling
Can you feel my pain
Wishing I could hold you
In my arms again

But I can almost hear your voice
Soothing me, whispers
“Rejoice, I’m with Him

And I see Jesus
I see Jesus
I see Jesus everywhere
I can touch Him
I can know Him
I can speak with Him face to face

So remember in your darkest hour
When things just don’t seem fair
Don’t lose sight of what He promised you
He’s with you right by your side

Do you see Jesus
Do you see Jesus
Do you see Jesus everywhere
Can you feel Him
Do you trust Him
Don’t you know He’s present everywhere”

Now that you’re in heaven
Tell me what you’ve learned
You’re now a witness
Of mysteries unheard
Is it true that heaven
Begins here on earth
And we can know Him now
If we believe His word

I know someday we’ll all be there
And bowing with you we’ll declare

“I see Jesus
I see Jesus
I see Jesus everywhere
I can know Him
I can touch Him
I can speak with Him face to face”
